Investing in Theatre - I'm no Angel!

Investing in a theatre production at any level is a risky business.
Even more so in the current climate where you never know from one day
to the next how your expenditure on petrol, taxes, bills etc. is going
to rise. It becomes even more challenging when the motives are:
1. To give young people a chance to further their careers by
getting into drama school or becoming the theatre technicians of the
future.
2. To create professional performances with a young amateur
cast using professional directors, choreographers, vocal coaches and
designers.
3. To raise enough money from sponsorship and ticket sales to cover
the production costs and hopefully repeat the "adventure" again next
time.
Grant funding is no longer an option for many theatre production
companies so unless we continue these somewhat risky ventures we run
the risk of never again being able to experience what is turning out
to be a superb production.

Our House-The Musical will open on June 3rd at The Bacon Theatre,
Cheltenham for 3 nights. It is based on the hits of 'Madness'. They
give a comical slant to songs whilst telling the tale of the moral
dilemmas that face young people today. It was first produced at The
Cambridge Theatre in 2002 but is still very relevant to life today.
Alongside the musical hits, a teenager is faced with a choice that
will change his life forever, a choice between good and evil and shows
how easy it is for teenagers to take the wrong path.....
The cast are so excited about performing at such a high level. Their
sheer energy and enthusiasm alone dispels any doubts that the project
is a valuable asset to the arts and develops young talent at
grassroots level. I am convinced that the audience will also be
captivated by the show when it opens on the 3rd June. Please do come and support the show if you are near the Cheltenham area. Tickets are available on 0844 5610547

My investment this year is being spent on ensuring that the set,
costume, sound and lighting are fantastic and the young performers are
properly coached to raise their levels to professional standards. The
ceative team have an impressive track record and are renowned for
their ability to achieve these high standards so it makes sense to
invest ...
or Madness, utter Madness!
